These are my second quarter two plates. For both of these plates I really wanted to add movement to them so I used glaze and texture to do that. For the plate on the left I just left the texture of the plate alone, but for the glaze I used clear and the black glaze. For the black I just dipped a brush and went around the bowl. I think the mood of this bowl is calm and almost ocean like. The bowl on the right ended up being to sharp for a practical use. While still on the wheel i took a pin tool and started in the middle and pulled out to give it the spiral affect but the clay just went up and made it sharp when glazed. For the glaze i dipped it in the white glaze and then took a turquoise glaze and dipped part of it in. I really like the mood this plate gives off, too me it gives off a happy mood.

This is my closed form project. It took my three days to just get the closed form part down. After I got it closed I proceeded to round out the top of it. I then cut the bottom off and waited a day to poke holes into it. The purpose of this is to be a candle holder. The outside was supposed to be glazed black and then have the bright green on the inside but the glazes didn't turn out the way I wanted. The inside was much darker than I intended and the out side was too light. I have to reglaze the out side if I want it to turn out smoother. But the over all mood of this project was mysterious to me
This is my group coil. I made it with Matthew and Preston. We made it for coach Brown. When we made it we made it as a straight cylinder and then as it dryed added shape to it. We used both red and white clay. The red clay st the top was coated in clear on the outside and the same green in the inside that we used for the rest of the project. The stripes were added after the project was made.
these are my choice products. These are very little bowls. For the bowls I used a new technique and threw off the hump. They aren't the most even or centered but they are cute and small. For the glaze I rakooed them and it turned out well. The mood I get from these is kind of dark.
This is my lidded project. It is my second attempt at a lidded project because when I was glazing my first one I dropped the lid and it shattered. This project I decided to add movement to it and make indented the sides of it. The lid is a little bigger then I wanted so it doesn't sit in it right. For the glaze I wanted to do something different so on the outside I layered white glaze on and dipped the lid in black glaze. For the inside I found a tomato red glaze and poured it into the vause. It was not a thick enough glaze so if I wanted I'd have to reglaze the inside.
this is my tall project. It is two pieces that I connected when they were wet. My skill for this was attatching pieces when they are wet and this is my most centered attempt at putting two wet pieces together. The outside is glazed white and the inside is glazed purple, it was a purple glaze that I made. The glaze on the inside was too thin so I had to glaze it twice so it was smooth. On the outside I wanted to carve something into it so I took a triangle tool and pressed it into the clay and carved the inside out while the tool was still pressed into the clay. The mood of this project too me is neat.
This is the last bowl that I made. I love this bowl. This bowl has a very even lip and instead of being rounded it looks more square which makes it unique to me. The glaze was the iron tan and black. I dropped the black into the center of the bowl and it gave the bowl a lot of movement.
This is the third bowl that I have made. This was actually the first one of the process and it shows if you hold it because it is very thick at the bottom making it very heavy. The bowl is very centered and even, the top is much thinner than the bottom though. One of the skills I used for this bowl was using my rib tool to shape it to how I wanted it. The bowl is symmetrical and it gives me a very calm mood. The glaze was just a blue that turned out nice and deep on the outside
This is my second bow. It is the smallest bowl out of my four, when i pulled it off the bat it was a little too wet so it deformed the lip of the bowl. Other than that i love the bowl. Its very shallow and short bowl perfect for keys or holding jewelry. The glaze was done with clear and shadow green on only the inside. The outside was just dipped in clear. I find the feeling of this bowl to be calm and happy. The shadow green on the inside gives a cool movement of almost water ripples.
